“Thank you for visiting our site and I look forward to working with you if you choose Integrated Counseling Services.”

Fees & Insurance

Integrated Counseling Services will be glad to talk with you about our fees and your insurance benefits. Some health insurance programs cover some of the costs associated with therapy.

It is always a good idea to call your insurance company early in the process to inquire about "outpatient mental health services".

We would be glad to assist you in any way we can in determining coverage. With your permission, our staff will call and find out what we can from your insurance company.

For more information on using your insurance benefit click on:  The Pros and Cons of Using an Insurance Benefit

Health insurance plans have outpatient mental health benefits. The obvious reason to use these insurance benefits for therapy is to reduce costs for you or your dependent.

There may be a deductible or co-pay, or sometimes you will be responsible for a percentage of the contracted rate that Integrated Counseling Services has established with your insurance company. Please note there may be restrictions as to the frequency and total number of sessions that can be used in a year and a lifetime.

Integrated Counseling Services files insurance claims on your behalf, and you are responsible for any unpaid balance that the insurance company does not pay. We do our best to insure that there are no surprises; but in spite of our best efforts, insurance companies occasionally do not handle things the way we expected.

One obvious concern about using that benefit is privacy. Many health benefits are administered through your company’s Personnel or Human Resource Department. Some clients might be concerned about how their companies handle personal information, especially regarding mental health. Also, many might be concerned about how insurance information is used by insurance companies or employers. To process claims under a PPO or regular Indemnity program, the insurance company generally requires a diagnosis, dates of service, the provider’s (therapist’s) name and address and other details.

Managed Care programs require even more information and usually ask for a treatment summary including some details from therapy in order to determine the insurance company’s view of medical necessity. They may deny payment if they determine that treatment has required more sessions than they believe appropriate.

Another area of concern for some people is the paper trail when it comes to filling out applications for life, health, or disability insurance. They might be uncomfortable for an insurance company to have a record of their treatment.
We cannot advise you regarding your decision to use or not use your insurance benefit. We provide this information as a way for you to be informed of what might be involved in that decision.

If you chose to use your insurance benefit, we will provide only what is required by an insurance company to meet the terms of your policy. Unfortunately, we can make no assurances regarding what happens to that information once it leaves our office."

http://www.nami.org/ “We all experience emotional ups and downs from time to time caused by events in our lives. Mental health conditions go beyond these emotional reactions and become something longer lasting. They are medical conditions that cause changes in how we think and feel and in our mood.

They are not the result of personal weakness, lack of character or poor upbringing. With proper treatment, people can realize their full potential, cope with the stresses of life, work productively, and make meaningful contributions to the world. Without mental health we cannot be fully healthy.

But understanding mental health isn't only about being able to identify symptoms and having a name for these conditions. There is a complicated ecosystem involving local communities, the federal government, research institutions, private companies and other pieces that are all trying to fit together.

Integrated Counseling Services, Children Adolescents Adults-Addiction Recovery,DBT Individual and Group, Eating Disorders, Post-Partum Depression and Anxiety, Relationship and Marital Therapy, Self-Injury, Traumahttp://selfinjury.com  “The S.A.F.E. ALTERNATIVES® philosophy
begins with the assumption that, although temporarily helpful, self-injurious behavior is ultimately a dangerous and futile coping strategy which interferes with intimacy, productivity and happiness. There is no "safe" or "healthy" amount of self-injury. We also believe that self-injury is not an addiction over which one is powerless for a lifetime, people can and do stop injuring, with the right kinds of help and support. Self-injury can be transformed from a seemingly uncontrollable compulsion to a choice.

Our philosophy involves the reliance on words, the context of relationships as the primary means for managing feelings, and gaining self-awareness and self-control. Self-injurers have often learned that feelings must be dealt with through physical actions of some kind. At S.A.F.E., we help patients learn to delay the urge to self-harm, reflect on what they are feeling and choose an alternative mode of coping. We call this process "enlarging the window of opportunity" between the urge to self-injure and the actual act. This window of time "frees up" the self-injurer to try something different.”
